A Great Greek Welcome
Sixty-five attendees with 15 guide dogs, representing 33 organisations in 20 countries took part in the four-day event, which began with the Annual General Meeting of the members on Thursday. There were 36 interesting and inspiring presentations and panel discussions on Friday and Saturday. Guests enjoyed a celebratory Gala Dinner in the hotel’s garden on Saturday night, with entertainment by dancers from the Lighthouse for the Blind and singers from the
Blind School in Athens -- arranged by the hosts: Lara Guide Dog School and Greek Guide Dogs Centre
The Directors had a Board meeting early on Sunday morning following which delegates enjoyed an optional tour of local attractions: the museum and ancient Temple of Artemis at Brauron, lunch at a seaside restaurant and a swim in the Aegean Sea.
On Friday, David Adams, EGDF Honorary President, welcomed the conference delegates; Jane Richards, EGDF Executive Director, introduced the Board Members and the participants introduced themselves.
